Biography:Â
Dr. Erin McGowan is a Faculty member in the School of Human Kinetics and Recreation at Memorial University in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Dr. McGowan has an undergraduate degree in Human Kinetics from the University of Ottawa, a master’s degree in Kinesiology (Sport Psychology) from Memorial University, and a doctorate in Kinesiology (Exercise and Health Psychology) from Western. She has expertise in individual and team performance and has worked with athletes with and without physical impairments. Over the past 17 years, Dr. McGowan has worked with numerous high performance and developmental athletes in a variety of sports, such as curling, soccer, basketball, rowing, sailing, cycling, and Boccia (to only name a few). She is dedicated to helping athletes achieve their potential by teaching them skills and strategies to realize their goals, change their behaviours, and achieve athletic success.
Erin loves running, basketball, hiking with her family, and exploring the outdoors.
