Biography: 

Dr. Pinel has a PhD in Sport Psychology, is an RCC (Registered Clinical Counsellor - BCACC), and is a CMPC (Certified Mental Performance Consultant – CSPA). Dr. Pinel has worked in high performance sport for over 25 years and has been part of Canadian teams at a variety of major events, including Beijing 2008, Delhi 2010 (Commonwealth Games), Guadalajara 2011 (Pan Am Games), London 2012, and Toronto 2015 (Pan Am Games), as well as numerous other international events like World Championships, World Cups, and World Series. Dr. Pinel has a strong background working in areas involving mental health, mental preparation routines, team dynamics, injury management (psychosocial aspects), performing under pressure, high-performance lifestyle routines, and athlete wellness. In addition, Dr. Pinel has a proven record of working collaboratively with other sport science and health care providers towards achieving team and individual goals. Dr. Pinel has had the pleasure of seeing athletes and teams that he has worked with on the podiums at the Olympics, Paralympics, and other major international evens.


Dr. Pinel also has over 25 years experience being part of successful multi-disciplinary injury rehabilitation teams for clients, and he is contracted to provide Mental Health and Performance training, consulting, and programming for numerous corporations and organizations.
